You’ve saved the scraps.
Some are leftovers from quilts you finished years ago. Some are pieces you loved too much to throw away. Some are sitting in bins because you know they could become something—but you just haven’t figured out what.
And maybe that’s where the trouble starts.
There are so many scraps. So many possibilities. So many projects you could make.
Where do you even begin?
Join me, Nicki Hibbits, and more than 20 quilting experts for five days of practical ideas, inspiration, projects, and possibilities to help you look at your scraps differently—and find your own way to use them.
Imagine opening your scrap bin and not immediately feeling overwhelmed. Having a better idea of what you have, what you might want to do with it, and where to begin. Imagine seeing a tiny leftover piece and thinking, “I could do something with that.”
That’s what this summit is about.
You started quilting because you wanted to make something, but every quilt leaves behind a few leftovers. Somewhere along the way, the scraps started multiplying.
Now maybe you have:
And sometimes the hardest part isn’t sewing. It’s deciding.
The summit is designed to help with those questions.
Not by giving you one answer—but by giving you more ways to see the possibilities.
Over four days, you’ll explore scraps from all kinds of angles.
You’ll see practical organization ideas, explore color and design, and see what happens when tiny pieces become something completely different.
You’ll discover techniques, quilts, gifts, art, and non-quilt projects, and hear from quilters who have developed their own ways of working with the fabric they have.
You may leave with a project you want to make, a new way to organize your scraps, or may simply look at your fabric differently.
All of those count.
Because the goal isn’t to finish the summit with every scrap accounted for.
The goal is to help you move from “What am I supposed to do with all of this?” to “I know what I want to explore next.”
Twenty-one quilting experts are joining together for five days of classes, demonstrations, inspiration, and practical ideas.
You’ll hear different perspectives because there isn’t one right way to work with scraps.

Sewing Rhythm™ – a live masterclass
Join these quilting experts for a one-of-a-kind event that will help you take control of your fabric scraps.
The summit has a natural progression.
For the first four days, we’ll explore what your scraps can become.
Then, on Friday, we’ll talk about what happens after the summit ends and how you can keep the scrap momentum going.
The summit has a natural progression.
For the first four days, we’ll explore what your scraps can become.
Then, on Friday, we’ll talk about what happens after the summit ends and how you can keep the scrap momentum going.
Before you can decide what to make with your scraps, it helps to stop thinking of them as a problem to solve.
Day 1 is about getting comfortable with what you already have.
You’ll explore unexpected combinations, practical organization, comfortable sewing, string quilts, tiny-scrap projects, and ways to work with leftovers—even if you don’t consider yourself a “scrappy quilter.”
Once you’ve started looking at your scraps differently, the next question becomes:
How do I get all these different fabrics to work together?
Day 2 is about possibilities. You’ll explore tiny crumbs, color tools, antique quilts, reversible projects, and approaches to quilting that can help you see your scraps in new ways.
There isn’t one formula for a beautiful scrap project. These sessions simply give you more ways to see what might work.
By now, you’ve seen ways to organize scraps, rethink leftovers, work with color, and turn tiny pieces into something useful. Now it’s time to explore.
Day 3 is your choose-your-own-adventure day.
You’ll see appliqué, collage, mini quilts, fabric selection, and a trunk show full of scrap possibilities. You may find one technique that immediately feels like you. Or you may discover something you never would have considered.
By the fourth day, you’ve seen a lot of possibilities. Now it’s time to put those ideas into your own hands.
Day 4 brings together projects, practical techniques, meaningful quilts, and a rainbow of color.
These sessions aren’t about following one particular definition of scrap quilting. They’re about finding an approach that makes sense for you and the fabric you already have.
You’ve got the scraps. You’ve got the ideas. Now let’s make room for the sewing.
The Scrap Summit wraps up with the Sewing Rhythm™, a live masterclass taught by Nicki Hibbits, the host of the Scrap Summit.
In this masterclass, Nicki will explain a simple four-step framework designed to help you choose a project, get ready, make meaningful progress, and return to sewing even when life gets in the way. It works with your scraps AND your stash.
Four days of scrap inspiration. One day to turn that inspiration into a rhythm that fits your life.
I’ve spent years sewing, quilting, saving fabric, starting projects, finishing projects—and accumulating scraps along the way.
And then life gave me even more.
When my mom passed away, I inherited five large bins of her fabric scraps, along with many smaller bins sorted by color, UFO’s yardage, kits, etc.
I understand what it’s like to look at a lot of fabric and wonder what comes next.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
The goal isn’t to have fewer scraps.
The goal is to have a simple, sustainable way to enjoy them.
That’s what I want this summit to give you.
Not a mandate to organize everything. Not a challenge to use every last piece. Not another system you have to maintain perfectly.
Instead, I want you to see what other quilters are doing, find ideas that fit the way you like to sew, and discover a few possibilities that make you want to sit down at your machine.
Because your fabric is there to be used, and your sewing time is meant to be enjoyed.
Right after you register, you can begin learning from all the Scrap Summit teachers.
No need to wait until November 9 to get started. All Scrap Summit teachers have prepared short Tips and Tools for Scraps videos for you to watch now.
The Scrap Summit is completely online, so you can participate from your own sewing studio.
Classes run from November 9-13, and there are presentations for all skill levels.
You’ll be notified by email when new classes are released each day at 9:00 am Central Time (USA) and have 48 hours to watch them, giving you time to choose what interests you without feeling like you have to watch everything at once.
Connect with fellow quilters like you who save their scraps inside our private Scrap Summit Hangout FB group!
Connect with the teachers, ask questions about the classes, talk about scraps in general, chat with Nicki and other Summit teachers, and share photos of your scrap projects and organization.
Is your quilt guild looking for some amazing teachers? Fifteen of the twenty-one quilting experts offer online and/or in-person classes, lectures, and workshops to guilds.
A Quilt Guild Guide is available for download, along with links to the teachers’ individual quilt guild webpages.
After registering for the FREE event, you have the option to upgrade your free ticket and get the Scrap Success Bundle.
The Bundle includes additional classes, patterns, and resources from the teachers, plus a special coupon for Nicki’s brand-new course designed to help you make sewing a regular part of everyday life.
Also, you won’t need to watch all 22 classes in 5 days. With the Scrap Success Bundle, you’ll have extended access to ALL the classes and videos so you can take your time learning the techniques and making the projects.
You’ll get all the Bundle details (and a special price offer) after registering for the free event, so keep an eye out for it.
This may be the most important thing I can tell you before you register.
You don’t have to watch every class. You don’t have to organize your entire scrap collection. You don’t have to make a project from every idea.
You don’t have to suddenly become a scrap-quilting expert, and you don’t have to finish the summit with your sewing room looking completely different.
Maybe one class gives you an idea. Maybe one teacher introduces you to a technique you’ve never tried. Maybe you finally know what to do with a particular pile of leftovers.
Maybe you simply sit at your sewing machine for an hour and enjoy yourself. That’s enough.
The summit is here to give you possibilities—not homework.
The summit was beautifully organized with a great variety of approaches to using scraps. I was actually quite impressed and would definitely join next year and buy the bundle 😊
~Suzanne
This was a fabulous summit and every style of how to quilt and use scraps was explored. The presenters were clear and had great ideas and inspiration. The obvious joy the presenters have in their personal quilt journeys was wonderful to see and hearing about their creative journeys was fun and exciting. So grateful for the summit and finding these like minded folks.
~Lori F.
A worldwide gathering of inspirational speakers. All brought something different to the table, and gave many ideas for dealing with/managing/using scraps. I’ll be back for the next summit! Thanks Nicki for setting this up.
~MG
The Summit was the impetus for me to rethink the scraps and fabrics in my stash. It gave me concrete steps to take to organize my scraps and terrific ideas for how to turn them into quilted treasures.
~Whitney B.
Every single day I had multiple ideas I took away from this summit. Each speaker was interesting and I learned so much! I woke up every morning looking forward to the classes for the day. I put this program ahead of my chores, which is the highest praise I can give any activity, (normally my “me time” comes at the end of the day). Thank you for producing this wonderful program.
~Jodi G.
You don’t need to have a giant scrap collection. You don’t need to consider yourself a “scrappy quilter.” And you don’t need to have a project in mind before you join us.
Just bring your curiosity—and the fabric you’ve already got.
The summit is for quilters who have fabric scraps and want more ideas for organizing, using, combining, and enjoying them.
You don’t have to be an experienced scrap quilter.
In fact, several sessions are specifically designed for people who don’t think of themselves as “scrappy quilters.”
The summit takes place November 9–13 with a live kick-off event on November 8.
Most of the classes are prerecorded. All the classes from November 9- 12 are prerecorded so you can watch them on your own schedule during their access window.
The kick-off event on November 8, and the masterclass on November 13 are live events.
No.
Most of the expert presentations are available for 48 hours, so you can watch when it works for you.
There are 2 live events and replays will be available shortly after they end.
The live kick-off event is November 8 at 3:00 pm Central Time.
The live masterclass is on Friday, November 13 at 3:00 pm Central Time.
Replays will be made available shortly after the live events.
Please don’t try to. After you register, Nicki will have a video showing you the best way to choose the classes that interest you and to find ideas that fit your sewing life.
That’s where the Scrap Success Bundle comes in.
It provides extended access to the summit classes along with additional bonuses so you can take your time exploring the ideas that interest you.
Yes, you will. No matter what time zone you are in, you have 48 hours to watch the free classes. You just need to convert the start time to your time zone. There are many online tools to help you do that.
Classes will be happening November 9-13, 2026. A new set of classes will be released at 9:00 am CDT (central time) which means classes will overlap. After registering, you will get a welcome email that includes a schedule of the classes. You can use this to help you plan for the classes you want to watch.
Note: The Tips and Tools for Scraps videos will be available for you to watch as soon as you register until the last day of the summit.
Yes. All classes have closed captioning as an option. You will have the ability to turn them off or on.
They are auto-generated so there may be some spelling errors.
No. When you register, you’ll be added to The Ruffled Purse email list so Nicki can send you updates for the event and links to each day’s presentations. After the summit is over, you’ll have the option to continue to hear from Nicki, but you can unsubscribe at any time.
Each of the teachers will have free resources available that you can access by providing an email address, but the teachers will not get your email address unless you choose to give it to them specifically. That way, you only hear from the people you really love and don’t have to worry about getting added to 20 email lists that you’re not interested in.
You can unsubscribe from any teachers’ email list at any time.

If you still have questions, please send me an email at nicki@theruffledpurse.com. I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Maybe it’s in a bin. Maybe it’s in a pile. Maybe it’s a collection of leftovers from quilts you’ve already made.
Maybe it’s a fabric combination you haven’t figured out yet, or maybe it’s not a quilt at all.
That’s one of the things I love about scraps. They don’t always tell you what they’re going to become. Sometimes you just have to give yourself permission to explore.
That’s what the Conquer Your Fabric Scraps Summit is about.
Four days to:
Plus one final day to think about how you’re going to keep sewing when the summit is over, because I don’t want you to leave with another list of things you should make.
I want you to leave thinking, “I know what I want to try next,” and then I want you to have a way to actually make time for it.
